Hi, I’m Zila Hillgrove—wife, mom of seven, and the hands and heart behind Firefly Cottage Bakery.

I enjoy the simple things in life: spending time with family and friends, sharing home-cooked meals, and cozy evenings watching a good movie or playing board games together.
I earned my degree in Culinary Arts and had the amazing opportunity to work at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, catering alongside chefs from around the world. Funny enough, I used to hate baking—until a friend invited me to a sourdough class about three years ago. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but once I did, I fell in love and haven’t stopped baking since.
More recently, I’ve discovered a new hobby: coffee. I was never a coffee drinker until I stumbled upon lattes—and now I love creating cozy, cottage-style recipes that bring warmth and comfort in a cup.
My love language is feeding people, and Firefly Cottage Bakery is my way of sharing that love. Whether it’s a loaf of sourdough, a warm muffin, or a handcrafted latte, my goal is simple—to make people (and their bellies) happy.
